Camping Skye – Community Owned Campsite.
Broadford and Strath Community Company purchased the Broadford Community Woodland in October 2011. Following on from the purchase, extensive consultation and research by Broadford and Strath Community Company identified a campsite and events space as one of the key priorities for the area and would deliver the greatest benefit.

Research on the potential for the site was carried out through the local community, local businesses, surveys, campsite visits, speaking to campsite operators, discussions with campers and web based research.
After securing funding from the The National Lottery Community Fund and Highlands and Islands Enterprise the first shovel broke the ground on site in the summer of 2016. Contractors worked hard against the Skye weather and Camping Skye opened its gates in June 2018.
Camping Skye has now been trading for over a year and business has been booming. The increase in the number of visitors to Skye and especially those in campervans has been incredible and there have been many full nights at Camping Skye.
Camping Skye is managed by Strath Leisure, which is the trading arm of the Broadford and Strath Community Company.
