Desire for a Forest School has been identified in our consultations with the community.  With project funding from the Aspiring Communities Fund with support from European Social Fund, we will explore the feasibility of, and requirements for, a Forest School based in the Broadford Community Woodland.

Options for the Forest School could include any or a mixture of:

  • Outdoor classrooms
  • After school activities
  • Wildlife clubs
  • School holiday activity days
  • An outdoor nursery
  • Or tell us your ideas.

The project is in two stages:

  1. The first stage from now until March 2018 will allow us to explore the feasibility, consult with the community, prepare a business plan and submit a funding application.
  2. If we are successful in attracting funding we will run a pilot outdoor learning project until June 2020.

The Forest School will be located at the Growers Hub in Broadford Community Woodland. There is a cabin that can be used by the school although most activity will be outdoors.
