Get involved in your local community woodland!
Join us for a fun and hands-on day celebrating trees and woodlands, to mark National Tree Week. Activities take place in and around Camping Skye, on Sunday 23 November, 11 – 3.
In the morning, help us to plant over 400 native broadleaf saplings – many of them grown in our very own Community Tree Nursery. We’ll be planting them in an open area of the community woodland, behind Camping Skye. Everyone is welcome, and no experience is needed – we’ll provide all the tools and training you need. Please wear wellies or stout shoes, and come dressed for all weathers.
In the afternoon, after some refreshment, Project Officer Phil Knott will lead a tour of the Community Tree Nursery and parts of the community woodland behind the Growers Hub. There will be a chance to find out about our exciting nature restoration plans for the site, and how you can get involved.
Throughout the day there will be a display in the Campers’ Shelter of BSCC’s plans for the community woodland and details volunteering opportunities. Staff/volunteers will be on hand to answer questions.
