Local Place Plan validated

Dec 12, 2024

We are pleased to announce that the Local Place Plan for Broadford & Strath has now been validated by The Highland Council and has been added to The Highland Council Local Place Plans register. Visit the register to see all the Local Place Plans created in our area and find out about others in preparation.

BSCC was pleased to work with Broadford & Strath Community Council to coordinate the Local Place Plan. We would like to extend our thanks to everyone who contributed.

The Highland Council’s Development Plans team will now make other teams aware that our Local Place Plan has been validated, as some of them may be able to support us in the delivery of our plan. These include the Housing Development Team, Environment Team, Highland Community Planning Partnership’s Partnership Development Team, Economy & Regeneration, Community Support and Engagement, and our Team Ward Manager.

Our Local Place Plan is available for members of the public to see and learn from, and for other people, such as developers, to take into account when they are planning development or considering land and property management in our area.

Local Place Plans will play an important role in informing the preparation of Local Development Plans. The Development Plans Team will take our registered Local Place Plan into consideration when preparing the new, single Highland Local Development Plan; and Planning team members will be asked to consider the catalogue of registered Local Place Plans, in the same way that other policy and area specific planning guidance is used, when they consider planning applications.
