News from the Broadford and Strath Community Company AGM

Mar 23, 2017

Malcolm Henry, Project Manager of the Broadford Community Woodland Project which includes a new campsite in Broadford updated the Broadford and Strath Community Company (BSCC) at their AGM on Tuesday 14th March. Malcolm anticipates roundworks starting on the site during May this year and consequently the handover of the site from the contractors at the end of the year. All this with a view to the new campsite being ready to accommodate the first campervans by Easter 2018. By the time the campsite is running at full capacity in 2020 it is predicted to support at least 2 full-time posts and 2 seasonal posts plus part-time auxiliary staff.

In addition to Malcolm’s update the BSCC reported a healthy state of affairs having secured a further year of funding for a part time Community Project Officer’s post currently held by Norma Morrison and as previously reported in the WHFP a further year of funding from the Climate Challenge Fund for the Greener Broadford project which encompasses the Allotments and associated activities.
