Welcome to the Broadford & Strath Community Council section of this website. We hope that you will find items of interest for all the community.
Broadford and Strath Community Council, like all other Community Councils and organisations, must comply with the Equality Act (2010) which makes it unlawful to discriminate against persons or groups on the grounds of gender, race, sexual orientation, disability, gender recognition, age, religion or belief. As a Community Council, we are also required to, and keen to, consider in particular, how we can promote equality on the above grounds, whether in relation to our role advising on planning applications, running community facilities, improving the quality of life through local community safety projects, ensuring meetings are held in accessible venues, etc.
We recognise and value diversity in our membership, and our community, and try to ensure that equality of opportunity be given to every possible participant in our community to enable their knowledge, opinion, skill and experience to be valued and taken into account.
We extend a warm welcome to anyone who wishes to attend the Community Council meetings, the minutes and agendas of which will be posted here. However, it should be noted that Community Council meetings are official meetings held in public rather than public meetings.
Meetings are usually held on the first Monday of the month at 7.30pm and we aim to use a variety of accessible venues in Broadford & Strath. Meetings are also advertised in the West Highland Free Press and in the events section of this website. Minutes of previous meetings are also displayed in a variety of venues throughout the area.
We look forward to seeing you at meetings.
